Two Of Diamonds

This is my favourite exercise so far. It is something you could recreate outside of the year long cycle with a handful of dice or another shuffled pack of cards. The Butter Mouse continues in his usual style of Welsh patois and linguistic clues. We are into the meat of his project.

Fingers crossed you don't get four twos.

‘Nos Da! The moon says hello from the window. She sits in the sky like a happy lump of iron. Time for another challenge!

You will have started to see reward for your actions. Perhaps some faces have peeked around the door. Keep going. Soon you may be travelling further than you think.

This month’s challenge pits you against the clock. But don't put your shorts on! Leave your cricket bat in the drawer! This will be a race against your own mind.

Draw your four cards for the month. Jacks to Kings are eleven to thirteen, and aces are a high fourteen.

Add your four numbers together, and whack a zero on the end. For example, if you were lucky enough to get four Kings, you have 48. Add a zero on the end, and 480 is your number.

This is the amount of seconds you have to plan your project. So get your egg timer out, find your materials, and get to work! Toil until the buzzer goes! This is your chance to riff and pump something into existence.

Once the time is up, the universe is yours. Sculpt, edit, delete and amend. Shake the paint can and strum the guitar. Remember, the rush of time is there to provide a fire for an idea. Let it burn and warm the beard of your creativity, and grow into a fine thatch of art.

Keep going! You rewards will continue! Where will you end up?

Pob lwc!’
