This week the Butter Mouse snatches a weird idea from the farthest territories of creative endeavours.
I separate all his tasks into two separate categories. There are those which spark off ideas through shapes, objects and experiences. A more traditional route. Then you have examples like below where it is as if the idea exists inside your mind, and you need to tempt it to the surface. Is the latter real, or an illusion? And if you get something from your cards, does the question matter?
Plus the usual sprinkling of Welsh. More on that soon.
I will complete my task tomorrow. We will see what words appear in two weeks time.
'Bore da! You must know your cards very well by now. Now you will get to know them even more! You will hold them close to your heart. Or to your feet. Stick them on your elbows if you like! Put them down your ffrog!
Apologies. I am going full steam ahead across the water, and leaving you behind. Here is the task below.
Pick your cards for the month, and doodle on them as usual. Then add together the numbers on the cards. Ace is one, Jack-King is ten-twelve. Only one mind! The nine of diamonds is not eighteen!
This is the number of minutes you have.
Put your cards somewhere on your person. They can be all together, or in up to four different places. Up to eight if you go back in time!
Then live your day as normal. Go and do the washing up. Take a walk. Listen to the radio. Have a cwrw with your crew. Ideas will grow inside you like a rare plant. Allow the stories to see inside you.
When that last minute vanishes, whip those cards out. Straight away mind! You may need to bring your egg timer with you. Maybe your rectangular friends will be a bit scuffed. Messy from your paintballing. But they will provide you with an idea. Or a bunch of them. Write them down before they vanish, and create from there.
Imagine all those people walking the Earth with cards in their pockets. Armour against the storm.
Pob lwc!’
