Bendfeorm 2/2

The husk was a lumpy wreck resembling a soaked and battered wasps nest. Slimy white gunk covered the withered sides. Despite the damp, I lifted it up, and examined the mastication. Rough indentations dotted the greasy paste on the corn. I remembered something about the words cuckoo spit.

More husks studded the path, occurring about every ten meters. Did they offer some sort of protection? Safe access down this route?

Something whispered. Up on the hill a shadow circled around a solitary tree. I tried to increase my pace, but the ground slid, even under the grips of my soles. I chug across the mud, expecting hands to drag me down. My pursuer had his moment. One sprint towards me, and this was over.

and yet

The husks are a sign that other rules are at play here.

Times like this made me think of Archie. You can protect them from physical danger when they are little, but when the complex challenges kick in later, what can you do? What if they take everything you taught them, and burn it in front of your eyes?

The moon was in the sky, even though the suns rays still hit the earth. A bigger moon, one that did not fit the lunar calendar. The crater like a black eye, watching me scramble across the surface of the planet.

Bendfeorm is a nice walk

Bendfeorm is a lovely walk

Bendfeorm is a great walk, if you do not mind getting muddy. Bring those walking shoes! Bring those wellingtons!

::It is getting bigger Barbara.  At the very least there are more legs. It was like some kind of vast caterpillar on a leak.

Feel like something is off with the writing this week, but cannot crack the problem. Please let me know if you have any thoughts. I hope you like my description of the farm house!

The beast attempted an attack. But those dozens of feet stopped near the edge of field. It tossed something up in the air, tried to swallow, and then shot it out like a mucky biscuit.

I can do this. We've got twelve weeks left. I will have my manuscript to you by New Year's Day. I know parts are scrappy at the moment,  but I am getting there. I have my plan for the final chapter. .
