I examined the Butter Mouse’s damaged fin again today. The ragged edges have stitched back into one smooth piece of cartilage, and although the limb is a little floppy, she can make a graceful loop all around her tank. If we cared less, we might have let her go.
Still have to push the thought of her leaving to the back of my mind. Especially as I have not got any further with these Butter Mouse clips.
I will examine my results so far.
In terms of general content found within them, they fall into two main groups. First, a landscape dotted with building, and symbols beyond my comprehension. Some even form a city, but nothing that resembles home. No signs of plants on the walls or rooftops, and the cars with exhausts still chug along the ground. A harbour dotted with boats, with no sign of wildlife about. Exciting lights though, and beautiful at night.
Then we have the water sections recorded in a building that in places resembles the Stitch. Creatures I do not recognise, although any would be welcome in our tanks. In a few shots are faintest outline of people, although not clear enough to show off faces.
The sound does not tally with the visuals, unless this is a world with no rules at all. All that crunching. All that whistling, underlined by the Butter Mouse’s cry.
But compared to the clips shown when our guests use the machine, I am sure there is a coherence to this footage. Rather than random, meaningless images, it is more like everything got chewed up on the way out of the machine.
All they needed was for someone to start putting them together.
After a lot of work, the have fiddled around with the clips like a jigsaw puzzle, and bits do for together. These are not random memories, but one cohesive whole.
I have no hard evidence, but does this means this an actual recording of a real place? Hidden behind those diamond doors on the exit of the Stitch?
I will keep putting them together. Until the Butter Mouse returns home. And then maybe an answer will appear.
So she has to stay a little longer.
Clip: What a beautiful animal, flanked by animals that are just as beautiful! She looks a bit like the Butter Mouse. Kind of blows my mind when you think of all the dimensions packed with such amazing beings.
